Alison Whitney was born and raised in Rockville Centre, NY, just a few stops outside of Manhattan on the LIRR.  When she was five years old, her mother took her to see her first Broadway show, The Secret Garden.  That night, she went home quoting Mary Lennox, determined to perfect the British accent.  Alison then landed her first leading role, as Bunny Sue, the little bunny who couldn't hop, in her kindergarten production of Get Hoppin'.  She loved rehearsing lines in the bathtub before bed.  There was nothing that could keep this typically "shy" girl from the stage.

Alison continued performing all the way through high school, pursuing dance and singing lessons as well.  She graduated with the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma with a concentration in Theatre.  Many auditions, long tech rehearsals, and opening nights later, Alison realized her life would be incomplete without acting.  Naturally, she applied to colleges where she could continue to train for the career of her dreams.  In May of her senior year, Alison was accepted to the renowned Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

Her college years were spent training at the Stella Adler Studio, where she believes she formed the building blocks of her craft.  Working with talented teachers and directors in the rich tradition of acting, Alison had the opportunity to play many leading roles at studio: among them The Love Talker, The Heidi Chronicles, and her favorite, Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest. (Looks like that British accent came in handy!)

Upon completion of her studies at NYU, Alison quickly transitioned from student to professional actress.  After performing in Happy Hour at the famous Michael Chekhov Theatre in NYC, Alison booked a starring role in her first feature film, a sci-fi thriller entitled Bacterium. The highlights of her career thus far include acting alongside Corey Feldman, Bronson Pinchot, and Brian O'Halloran in Cluster, as well as Charles Durning and Michael Pare in Polycarp.  She's learned so much from her talented co-stars and has continued to work in film, TV, and the NY Theatre. Alison made her national TV debut in July of 2007 on The Rachel Ray Show

Her passion and insatiable thirst for growth and success propels this fearless actress towards challenging, new projects everyday.  Alison appreciates every opportunity she encounters to pursue the acting career that she loves, treasures, and wholeheartedly believes in.
